The Liverpool Internet Exchange (IX Liverpool) have announced that they are partnering with Liverpool City Region Data Centres (LCRDC) to extend their digital interconnection hubs and peering LAN into their data centres.
Liverpool City Region Data Centres are pioneers in creating and managing data centre space throughout the Liverpool City Region and have ambitious plans to extend their local footprint.
Until now, the IX Liverpool interconnection hub has only been available at the MICT Data Centre in the Baltic Triangle with members only being able to connect at that location.
The mutually beneficial partnership is set up so that each time LCRDC opens a new regional data centre, the IX Liverpool Interconnection Hub will be installed and available to members also, giving both members of IX Liverpool and customers of LCRDC access to IX Liverpool services.
The first one of the partnership locations to go live on 1st September 2024 will be LCRDC’s 6800sqft Liverpool City King Edward site located by Princes Dock, just north of the city centre, followed on the 1st October 2024, with the Liverpool City Queens facility located within the Baltic Triangle, just south of the the city.
IX Liverpool has negotiated a deal so that members who take data centre space within LCRDC can connect to IX Liverpool’s interconnection hub free of charge.
